Sanskrit Samhita Siddhant (संकृत संहिता सिद्धांत)
Department of Sanskrit Samhita Siddhant is concerned with basic principles of Ayurveda. This Department has vast curriculum related with three years of UG course. Sanskrit, Padarth Vidnyan & Ayurvedic Itihas, Mailik siddhant Avum Astang Hridayam, Charak (Poorwardh) & Charak (uttarardha) these are the subjects related with this department.
Basic principles are very very important part of Ayurveda. Without through knowledge of above said subjects we can not understand or learn the Ayurveda. It is very difficult to learn Ayurveda without knowledge of Sanskrit & very difficult to treat patient without proper knowledge of basic principles.
Sharir Kriya (शरीर क्रिया)
Department of Sharir Kriya is concerned with Basic Principles of Ayurveda. Basic Principles (for exp. Dosha, Dhatu, Malas etc.) are very very important in Ayurveda. Without knowledge of basic principles of Sharir Kriya, we cannot understand any subject of Ayurveda because doshas are physiological unit of the human body. Dhatus are anatomical (structural) unit of the body and Malas are excretory (solid & liquid) part of the body. By the knowledge of this subject, the student have know it means about normal healthy condition of the body.
The Sharir Kriya dept.have well equipped with sufficient Instruments and chemicals.
In this Dept. Physiological knowledge of Physiological activities of human body is given to student. Without Physiology we cannot judge pathology hence, for the better education of Sharir Kriya, as per the norms of CCIM all types of charts, models, instruments chemicals are available.
Sharir Rachana (शरीर रचना)
Sharir Rachana is one of the main basic subjects of medical science, by which we can identify and gain knowledge of human body parts using dissection methods and become open- minded researcher and able clinician. Being the foundation, all the basic principles of Ayurveda are encompassed within Sharir Rachana.
All the medical sciences require more or less basic knowledge of Sharir Rachana. Hence the study is indeed a most important of the basic Sciences of life.
There is a wide application of Rachana Sharir in Shalya - Tantra , Netra Rorga, Shalakya Tantra and Asthi Shalya Rog etc.

Rasashastra (रस शास्त्र)
Today’s challenge is to prove the safety & efficacy of our Bhasmas & Rasayanas. Our formulations most of the time made from minerals chemicals & poisons as well as toxic plant materials. It is a complex preparatory techniques & need careful applications, if not can be hazardous , so western science looks at these as dangerous, toxic, poisonous & hence rejected. Here we want to accept this challenge, we plan systematically to develop modern scientific basis. We want to work on preparatory technique and use modern technology & we wish to create a new parallel scientific version for the entire world.
Swasthavritta (स्वास्थवृत्त)
Ayurved is a science of life and Main aim of Ayurveda is to do the prevention of health of all individuals and then if there is need treat the diseases.
Total Ayurveda is divided mainly in two parts; one is preventive and second is curative method. Therefore the half of the Ayurveda is included in Swasthavritta i.e. the prevention of health. That’s why the Swasthavritta is a heart of Ayurveda.
The subject is included in Third Year Syllabus in B.A.M.S. course. In this subject many different kinds of preventive methods are given for promotion of health, not only physical health but also social, mental & spiritual health of person. Swasthavritta subject is combination of personal hygiene, social hygiene, Yoga & Naturopathy.
Our National Health Policy also gives more stress on prevention & promotion of health of people and Swasthavritta, Yoga & Naturopathy are heart of it. Present life style of people gives cause to mental stress more than physical stress. Human being day by day is going away from natural to artificial very rapidly which result into more stress diseases. The only solution for this is Swasthavritta and for this in Swasthavritta a typical daily routine is given for every person from morning to night.
We have a qualified fulfilled teaching staff for department and also well equipped museum is available.
Department actively participate in National Health Programmes & Social activities related with Health. Guest Lectures of eminent speakers from Ayurveda & also in modern sciences are arranged. Various Educational Visits Yoga, Naturopathy as per syllabus are performed.
Rognidan (रोग निदान)
This is an important subject which is included in Second Year B.A.M.S. which deals with patients clinical examinations, pathological investigations. As we all know that in Medical faculty without diagnosis treatment become absolutely of no meaning. This subject is not only related to diagnosis but also diagnostic aids like various pathological investigations & prompt Ayurvedic & Modern clinical examinations. The dept. fulfills the norms regarding teaching & non teaching staff according to C.C.I.M. New Delhi, M.U.H.S. Nashik as well as Charts, Instruments, Histopathological slides & specimens.
The department has a Central Pathology Laboratory attached to the Hospital where advance techniques of investigations are done on automated Biochem Analyzer & Haemotological Cell Counter as well as traditional Ayurvedic diagnostic methods.
Dravyaguna (द्रव्य गुण)
Means all herbs on the universe , all minerals, metals water, soil etc. matters are used as medicine Dravyagunashastra is that branch of knowledge that deals with the properties, actions , dose, time of administration & Various preparation of these matters Dravyaguna is a subject of 2nd year B.A.M.S. & also concerned with herbal medicine.
Dravyagunashastra is not only a useful factor for swasthya ( maintenance of health ) & chikitsa ( treatment ) but is also the chief factor involved.
The world health organization ( WHO) estimates that 4 billion people around the world use herbal medicines for their primary health care. Drugs of natural origin play a significant role in public health and majority of worlds population still relies on herbal medicine to meet its health needs. At least 25 percents of drugs in modern phamacopoea are derived from plant.
In our traditional system of medicine the quality control aspect has been considered from its inception itself by Rishis & later by the vaidyas , However in modern concept it requires necessary changes in their approach . for quality control of herbal medicines we need information of identification , its study documentation and quality assessment is interpreted property in terms of modern assessment .
That why our department provides 2 acre Herbal garden with 1021 plants with 220 different species for identification of plants.

Agadtantra Vyahar Ayurved Evam Vidhi Vaidyak
‘A Doctor must be clinically competent, medically alerts & legally aware…...’
The subject – ‘Agadtantra, Vyahar Ayurved Evam Vidhi Vaidyak’ teach medical alertness as in Toxicology i. e. Agadtantra & Legal awareness as in Forensic Medicine i.e. Vyavahar Ayurved & Medical Jurisprudence i.e. Vidhi Vaidyak.
Main aim of this subject is to contribute in producing skilled legal medical practitioner. To achieve this motto we have well established Dept. with full fledged teaching staff. Dept coincides with well equipped museum with set of weapon, set of poisons with household poisons, computerised chart on syllabus, models, Preserved viscera, Photographs of snakes, Set of Antidotes, Slides, Transparencies, Different types of books of F.M.T. & Agadtantra, Set of Post Mortem Instrument, cultivated Poisons Plants, Photo album, CD’s and F.M.T.
Kaumarbhritya (कौमार्यभ्रीत्या)
Kaumarbhritya is one of the important branch of Ayurveda dealing with the care of the child from the conception till the maturity i.e. adolescences. This department of the institution is fulfilling all the criteria mentioned in the CCIM norms in terms of staff & necessary requisites. The department is well equipped for the benefit of students with necessary charts, models & sophisticated instruments to undergo treatment with integrated approach keeping parallel with the modern pediatric department. The students are imparted integrated & updated knowledge theoretically as well as practically from both Ayurvedic & Modern aspects.
Shalakya Tantra (शालांक्य तंत्र)
Shalakya Tantra is the subject consisting three subdivisions- 1. Netra roga vigyan (Ophthalmology), 2. Karna-Nasa- Kanth-Shiro roga vigyan (ENT), 3. Mukh & Dant roga (Detistry). These specialties having some different methods of treatment known as Kriyakalp, like local application of medicine at the site of disease along with systemic administration as well as different type of surgeries including modern techniques.
Our Institute running Under Graduate course as B.A.M.S. since 1989.
In our department we are doing scientific researches in all three subdivisions of Shalakya Tantra. In Shalakya department of the Hospital which is attached to Institute having well maintained separate O.P.D., Operation theatres & Wards for all the subdivisions.
Kayachikitsa (काय चिकिस्सा)
Kayachikitsa Department is majar clinical department of the institution. The department is essentially concerned with the scientific teaching of Ayurveda for under graduate students, patient care and research activities. Kayachikitsa department is enriched with the well equipped Panchakarma departments & I.C.U. well equipped Pathology lab., X - ray, E.C.G. unit are available for the diagnostic of various diseases.
Various research activities in the involution of the efficacy of Ayurvedic drugs in different diseases as well as ayurvedic drugs with panchakarma procedures, are going on the future development plan is to graduation course in for which the proposal already has been to the state Govt. kayachikitsa department is the unique department working specially for the preservation of best health as well as providing the very scientific natural treatment for diseases with the help of natural drugs , Panchakarma procedures (Naturally purifying the body) and yoga chikitsa in this competitive , Stressful life.
